What happens if the online course is cancelled or delayed?

Online courses normally run regardless of class size. If Sunlight Care cancels a course, you may request a refund or transfer to the next available course. Required hands-on skills sessions may occasionally need to be rescheduled by an instructor.

How do I complete the online program?

At the beginning of the course, you will receive an email containing your login information, orientation materials, and instructions for completing the online coursework. The instructions will also explain how to attend the required hands-on skills sessions, complete final testing, and apply separately for New Jersey certification after successfully finishing the program.

You need a reliable computer or laptop with dependable internet access, speakers or headphones, and an active email account. You should be comfortable using the internet and email because most course communication is completed by email.

When do I take the final exam?

Final exams are scheduled Tuesday through Friday between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. You must email Sunlight Care to schedule your exam so that an RN is available to administer and review it with you.

Exams are not available on Mondays. You will have one hour to complete the final exam.

What if I need to reschedule a required hands-on skills session?

If an emergency prevents you from attending a required hands-on skills session, contact Sunlight Care as soon as possible. A half-day make-up session costs an additional $50.00. A full-day make-up session costs an additional $100.00.

Make-up sessions must be scheduled with an instructor and may take place during the next available course. Students who miss more than one required skills day will not be eligible to complete the course.

What if I need to cancel or transfer my registration?

A full refund will be provided when cancellation is requested eight days or more before the course begins.

Tuition is nonrefundable when cancellation is requested fewer than eight days before the course begins. You may request a transfer to another available course one time. Contact Sunlight Care for the required transfer form and instructions.

Where are the required hands-on skills sessions held?

What are the rules for required hands-on skills sessions?

• Wear scrubs, arrive on time, and remain in the session until dismissed by the instructor.
• Do not use a cell phone during instruction or disrupt the session. Students will receive only one warning.
• Do not sleep during the session.
• Dispose of trash in the designated Sunlight Care office trash container—not in the bathroom trash containers.
• You may leave the classroom when you need to use the bathroom. You do not have to wait until a scheduled break.
• Eat breakfast before the session and bring lunch, snacks, and drinks as needed.
• Do not work an overnight shift immediately before your scheduled skills session. You must be awake and able to participate safely.
• Do not congregate near the building entrances. Smoking is not permitted within 25 feet of the building.
• Avoid overcrowding the bathrooms during breaks.
• Do not curse, fight, scream, argue, or otherwise behave disruptively in the classroom, hallway, or other areas of the building.
• Respect the building and its other tenants. Keep voices low while in the hallway and other shared areas.
