laptop_mac Online certificate program
How does the online CHHA certificate program work?
Study on your schedule, then complete skills and testing at our office. Staying on pace is essential for success.
The online CHHA program is convenient for those who are unable to attend an in-person class. However, you must be a self-starter and motivate yourself to complete all the required coursework. This is not a program you want to procrastinate on.
how_to_reg Registration and tuition
You must register for the class online and pay your tuition fee. Tuition is due two days prior to the start of the course you selected. If you fail to make payment by then, you will be entered into the next available online course.
Once payment is received, you will receive your orientation email the day prior to the start date of your course by 4:00 PM. This email will contain your username, password, and link to the website so that you may begin your course on the start date.
mail Orientation
An orientation will be emailed to you on the first day of class to explain how the online training works, what is expected of you, how to contact the instructors for issues or questions, and the process of being certified. This orientation is not included in the 60 hours.
schedule Timeline and weekly pace
You will have a maximum of five weeks to complete the 60-hour online training curriculum, the 16-hour skills training, and the final exam.
We recommend completing at least 15 hours of online training curriculum per week so you don't fall behind. You can complete more hours each week if desired.
healing Skills training (16 hours)
The 16 hours of skills training will be scheduled as two 8-hour days between the start and end date at the office, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. You will be trained on how to properly use equipment you may use in the field (wheelchairs, hospital beds, walkers, Hoyer lifts, and more), how to do bed baths, ambulation and transfers, foot and hand soaks, feeding techniques, and more.
Rescheduling: If you do not attend the assigned dates and have to be rescheduled, you will be charged an additional fee of $100 per day. You will be informed of those dates during your course via email. You will be able to choose the dates that work for your schedule.
fact_check Final exam
The one-hour final exam will be administered at the office. You will have two attempts at reaching a passing grade of 85%. The test will be scheduled upon completion of the online course modules and two days of skills training.
extension Extension, materials, and access
You can receive a one-time two-week extension for an additional tuition fee of $100. All training materials are online, so you will not need a textbook; however, if desired you may purchase a textbook for $50.
